Pedri has a ruptured femoral biceps and will miss the rest of the season

BarcelonaBarça have explained that the tests carried out this morning on the player of the first team Pedri confirm that he has a rupture in the biceps femoris of his left thigh. According to the club, “it is low and the evolution will mark its availability”, but with this injury the canary will lose what is left of the season.

The Canarian footballer, who is living his second season in the Barça first team, was one of the most used players last season, in which he played more than 70 games. After a game at Sevilla he was injured and missed a few matches in a season in which Luis Enrique called him up to play in the European Championship and also went to the Tokyo Olympics. This second season, the canary has been injured twice. The previous time was a relapse of the muscle injury in the quadriceps of the left thigh. He has now been injured in the same leg, but in a different muscle.

Pedri, who was unable to take part in most of the matches in the first days, had become the team’s mainstay with Xavi. The Terrassa coach had already tried to give the midfielder a break, as happened in the Llevant field, when he was a substitute, but he had to enter the second half to score one of Barça’s comeback goals. Against Eintracht he noticed discomfort in the first half and asked for a replacement. Pedri will miss the start of the next three league games of the next ten days, against Cádiz, Real Sociedad and Rayo Vallecano.
