The former coach of Marseille, Bordeaux or Montpellier Rolland Courbis, now a media consultant, is committed until the end of the season with the club of Sète (National, 3rd div.) who made it the announcement Thursday. “Former defender then coach, notably of Olympique de Marseille, Montpellier Hérault Sport Club, Racing club de Lens, FC Girondins de Bordeaux or Stade Rennais FC, (Rolland Courbis) brings his experience to the first team alongside Nicolas Guibal“, indicated on its site the Sète club, engaged in the race to maintain.
Courbis was recruited to bring his long experience as a player and coach to Nicolas Guibal (50) who has led the Sète team since the summer of 2018. Rolland Courbis, 68, had done a freelance job with Fabien Mercadal in Caen (Ligue 1) from January 2019, three years after his short-lived spell in Rennes. Former coach of Toulon, Bordeaux and Marseille in the 1990s, he had notably exercised his coaching duties in Montpellier twice (2007-2009, then 2014-2016), where he had contributed in 2007 to his maintenance in Ligue 2 before securing his return to Ligue 1 two years later.

“Coach Courbis”, originally from Marseille, former player of Monaco and Toulon, occupies a role of consultant on RMC radio or on BFM TV. In January, the Sète club tried to recruit former Brazilian defender from Montpellier Vitorino Hilton, a 44-year-old retiree since last July. Sète, with a prestigious past, occupies 14th place in the National (3rd division) four days before the end of the season and is two points ahead of the first relegation player, Chambly. Friday, on the occasion of the 31st day, the Sète are preparing to receive Orleans during the 31st day.
