Former basketball player Magic Johnson presented at a press conference on Tuesday their docuseries “They Call Me Magic”a work in which it tells its story in its own terms and comes to the fore in recent audiovisual productions that question his figure.

“Some have tried to tell my story, my own path, though it had to be me who explained itJohnson reiterated a clear reference to “Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty” (HBO Max), which premiered last month and questions the legacy of players like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar or Johnson himself.

Apple TV + launches this docuseries this Friday of four deliveries which Johnson leads and which the platform defines as the narrative of the career of “an icon of humble origins that transcends time.”
