Spaniard Jon Rahm (-15) retains the Mexico Open lead after 54 holes. But twelve players stand in five moves and promise us a nice suspense on Sunday for the last round.
Still chasing a title since US Open 2021, Jon Rahm is on track to return to success, a month after losing its world number one spot to Scottie Scheffler. The 27-year-old Basque signed a card of 68 (-3) which was not easy. Trapped by the water hazard on par 10 for his only bogey of the day, Rahm almost put another ball in the water on par 5 of 14, finally birdie after staying dry. Not very successful on the greens, the world number two still finished with a nice birdie to keep his two strokes ahead.
Birdie at the last for @JonRahmPGA.

They are very numerous to be able to claim the title on Sunday with twelve players in five moves. Americans Kurt Kitayama et Cameron Champ are the best placed pursuers, both two-shot. Champ conceded back-to-back bogeys in the 15th and 16th to leave Rahm in charge, but his power could be decisive on Sunday. Kitayama will be the third player of the last part who will make the powder speak between these three hitters of the world circuits.

The Nebraska Golfer Nate Lashley proved that you could score very low with his clear 64 card punctuated by two birdies. German Stephan Jaeger even managed two eagles in a row on 6 and 7, proving that everything can go very quickly on this spectacular course in Vallarta Vidanta. This is the second time this season that a player has achieved this feat after carlos ortiz au Phoenix Open. Sebastian Muñoz nearly signed an albatross at 18… before finishing with par. As a reminder, Paul Barjon didn’t make the cut for the eighth time in his last nine starts and top 10 at The American Express.
