Hoogma will leave the KNVB next summer and would like to work for a club again. He was also mentioned as a possible successor to general director Paul van der Kraan at FC Twente. Van der Kraan has been temporarily appointed and FC Twente is looking for a replacement.
Steven Sierink and Casper Raymakers of the Zwart-Wit De Podcast believe that Heracles should bite. “As a club, you absolutely have to seize this opportunity with both hands,” he said TC Tubantia up from the podcast. “It would be very stupid if Hoogma comes on the market and Heracles does not make an attempt to bring him in. If you do not bite now, he will go to FC Twente. Then you are too late.”
A loyal Heracles fan who is a member of several supporter associations says: “Nico-Jan Hoogma’s name is certainly alive among the supporters in all walks of life. It is discussed. If he comes back everyone would applaud that.” The supporters’ associations Vak’74, Hart voor Heracles and The Locals do not want to respond to the conversation with chairman Hans Bredewoud about Hoogma, because they hate ‘the red newspaper Tubantia’.
