Fabio Caponio’s European Championship ends with the advantages of the third set.
The blue athlete, originally from Santeramo, sold in three sets (19-21; 21-16; 23-21) to the Swedish Felix Burestedt.
«I am very sorry – the words of Caponio – I fought until the end but something did not go the right way. To win at these levels, you mustn’t make a mistake, especially in key moments and in the end I made some mistakes that cost me dearly. However, there remains the feeling that I can play it and that I have also grown mentally. I maintained a high level throughout the match against a respectable opponent and this is the challenge that I will have to face also in the near future ».
The blue yesterday had beaten the Scottish Callum Smith in two sets (with a score of 21-15 and 21-3) in the 32nd final.
