The test opens the Bilbao Bizkaia 2022 Multisport Triathlon European Championship, which will be held from September 17 to 24 in Las Encartaciones, Urdaibai and Getxo-Portugalete in addition to the Biscayan capital

The Bilbao Duathlon 2022 already has a route. The event will be held on September 17 and 18, according to the different categories, and will pass through some of the main icons of the Biscayan capital, such as the Guggenheim, Euskalduna, San Mamés… The Arenal Park will host both the start and the goal of both tests. The race on foot will cross the estuary of the town, while the ascent to Artxanda will be the challenge for the bicycle.

Some 1,100 duathletes will meet in Bilbao for a historic weekend. On Saturday, September 17, it will be the turn of the Sprint and Paratriathlon Age Groups in the morning, while in the afternoon the Elite, Sub-23 and Junior events will take place. On the morning of Sunday, September 18, the Standard Age Group test will be held. You can consult specific information on each route and timetable at the following link.

The duathlon will be the first discipline of the Bilbao Bizkaia European Triathlon, a competition that will bring together 8,000 athletes from more than 30 countries on the continent in an event that is estimated to generate an impact of ten million euros for the region. Under the impulse of Innevento, the historical territory will host the rest of the disciplines until September 24. Thus, Bilbao will also host the Triathlon, while the Cross Duathlon will be held in Las Encartaciones. The Cross Triathlon specialty will be held in Urdaibai and the Aquathlon will be between Getxo and Portugalete.

No one wants to be left without a bib number and their registrations are going at a good pace, even with several months ahead until the competition. Until July 31, all athletes who want to participate can enjoy an average bonus on their registrations of up to 40%, thanks to the grant provided by the Organizing Committee, made up of the Bilbao City Council, the Bizkaia Provincial Council and the Spanish Triathlon Federation, to favor national participation, together with the effort of the organization of the event offering closeness and comfort to all triathletes, as was done in previous competitions.
