DIM, for a victory against Envigado, to arrive strengthened at the South American

Independent Medellin It has been obtaining results that have managed to put aside the skepticism that a sector of the fans had prior to the start of the semester.

Precisely the idea of Julio Avelino Comesana and their goal is to win this Saturday (2:00 pm) against F.C.at Atanasio Girardot Stadiumwhich allows him to extend his positive streak and especially arrive with high morale to his first match of the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana.

And it is that after the commitment of the date 14 of the Betplay League 1-2022, in front of the orange cast, the DIM will have to focus on the match against Guaireña, representative of Paraguay, with whom they will face each other next Thursday at 6:30 pm (Colombian time) in the Defenders of Chaco Stadium.

The Antioquian set He will travel next Tuesday to Guarani soil, where he will finalize details for the aforementioned commitment.

But before embarking on his journey outside the country, Medellín must fulfill the task in the local League, in which it is close to achieving its early classification for the second round, a fact that it has not been able to achieve five championships ago.

El Poderoso, who this semester has again been worthy of this nickname, is fourth in the standings with 22 points, seven behind Millonarios, who with 29 units commands the ranking.

High and low in the DIM

This Saturday Medellín will not be able to count on Juan David Mosquera, who was expelled in the match on the thirteenth day, at the Hernán Ramírez Villegas stadium, where he tied (1-1) with Deportivo Pereira.

His absence does not generate unease in the coaching staff, since Juan Guillermo Arboleda is already used to the right-back position, a position in which he has played most games this semester.

“Juan David is a teammate who has been doing things very well, but the others are there, always preparing and waiting for the opportunity. Thanks to God I have also been able to perform this semester, have rhythm and competence and I was able to contribute to the team,” said Arboleda.

The defender from Antioquia has been on the field in ten of the fifteen matches that the red team has played this semester, including the two clashes against América de Cali, in South America. In half of them he has played the whole match.

Arboleda enjoys the confidence of Comesaña, who has even dared to use him in other positions, including central defender. Precisely, his polyfunctionality contributes to the fact that the coach takes him into account more frequently.

“For every coach it is good to have soccer players who know how to play in various positions, one as a player must have that confidence to be where the teacher needs it and contribute there,” added the 32-year-old athlete.

Other novelties in Medellín would be the return of Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo, after serving a sanction date. For his part, Vladimir Hernández has already received a medical discharge and for almost the whole week he carried out fieldwork, but it is believed that he will not yet be taken into account as a starter.

Envigado will exhibit undefeated

Meanwhile, Envigado, who has just tied at the Polideportivo Sur with Bucaramanga (0-0), for the Betplay Cup; and against Once Caldas (1-1), for the League, he is in good health and would have no news on his payroll compared to the eleven that faced the Manizales representative.

“They have been oriented all week regarding what they have to do. Luciano Pons is a very serious finisher, but we are going to compete and try to do well”, said coach Alberto Suárez, who is aware of the rival’s offensive potential, who has scored 18 goals this championship, eight of them by Pons, who shares the first place in the scoring table with Luis Carlos Ruiz, from Cortuluá.

Suárez predicts a high attendance of spectators at the Atanasio, but considers that the public “weighs in favor of the 22, not only for the benefit of some, because we get used to our players playing for the people. Surely there will be around 30,000 in the stadium and it will be a good show”.

The orange team (sixth with 20 points) also accumulates good numbers this semester. Although in the last two days of the championship it has been tied in the last minutes, it has been seven games without defeat. His last fall dates back to February 15, when he lost in his stadium (1-2) with Atlético Nacional.
