“Crazy person!” – Pep Guardiola’s reaction to the Ederson vs Liverpool moment

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has described his team’s goalkeeper as “crazy” after his thrilling moment against Liverpool.

Ederson came close to awarding Diogo Jota a goal with a fatal error in the 23rd minute after the goalkeeper casually passed a ball that seemed to flow across the goal line.

But, Jota finally lost quickly to intercept Ederson’s tense pass to Aymeric Laporte.

In the English Premier League match last weekend, City were matched by Liverpool 2-2 at the Etihad which made the competition at the top of the standings still one point apart.

“He’s crazy,” said Guardiola in a press conference against Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, Tuesday (12/4).

“This guy is crazy, sometimes I think he doesn’t feel something! He conceded goals, he was calm, made saves, he was calm, very stable and as a goalkeeper he was fantastic. On the outside, he is completely different.”

“On the day of the game I thought the ball wasn’t that close and after I saw the photos it was just an inch into the net and it didn’t matter. He’s very good he’s very stable, it’s like he doesn’t feel the pressure.”

“The most important thing in football is you have to forget the previous action and he can forget it immediately, he is ready for the next action.” he concluded.

After facing Atletico, Man City will meet Liverpool again, this time in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, Saturday (16/4).
