Dhe AS Roma under star coach Jose Mourinho has created a good chance of reaching the final in the Conference League. The sixth-placed team in the Italian soccer championship drew 1-1 (0-1) at Leicester City in the first leg of the semifinals on Thursday evening. Lorenzo Pellegrini (15th minute) put the Romans ahead against England, who were tenth in the table. Ademola Lookman (67th), loaned to Leicester by RB Leipzig, equalizes for the hosts.
In the other semi-final, Feyenoord Rotterdam managed a home win. The third-placed in the Dutch championship defeated Olympique Marseille 3-2 (2-2). Cyriel Dessers (18’/46′) and Luis Sinisterra (20′) scored the goals for the hosts. Ahmadou Bamba Dieng (28th) and Gerson (40th) scored for France’s second in the championship.
Both semi-final second legs will take place next Thursday. The winners will play for the title on May 25 in Tirana, Albania.
