Bronze for Ledesma in Turkey

Over the weekend, the IBSA Judo Grand Prix was held in Antalya (Turkey), reserved for people with visual disabilities, and the athlete Rocío Ledesma, who emerged from the Río Grande Municipal School, and for several years, was present. member of the national team of this modality, with residence in Buenos Aires.

BIG RIVER.- On Saturday, in the J1 category, up to 48 kilos, Ledesma won one of the bronze medals, after beating a local representative in the first round; she will be defeated by a judoka from Brazil in one of the semifinals of the contest; and beating a fighter from Greece in the repechage, with the bronze medal at stake.

During that same day, his teammates Laura González (1st in category J2, up to 57 kilos) and Fabián Ramírez (5th in J1, up to 73 kilos) fought.

On Sunday, meanwhile, it was the turn of Nadia Boggiano, 3rd in J1, up to 70 kilos.

Both yesterday and today the judokas and the coach Walter Dzurovcin

participated in a Training Camp, and on Thursday they will return to the country.

The tournament awarded points for the world ranking, where judokas seek to add with a view to the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Also, in 2023 the Parapan American Games will be held in Santiago de Chile.

Ledesma was the bronze medalist in 52 kilos at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games, with 2 wins and as many losses; she and she 5th four years later, in Lima, with a balance of 0-4.

The next two IBSA competitions will be May 28 and 29, in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), and July 2 and 3, in São Paulo (Brazil).
