The Cincinnati Bengals are back in the conference finals for the first time in 33 years.
Rookie Evan McPherson completed a 52-yard field goal on Saturday’s final play to defeat the Titans 19-16 at Tennessee.
The Bengals (12-7) had three interceptions off quarterback Ryan Tannehill that led to two field goals.
The last successful interception by Luke Wilson put the Bengals at their 47-yard line. After a 19-yard pass from Joe Borrow to Ja’Marr Chase, the Bengals made two ground plays before McPherson’s game-winning kickoff.
The Bengals won despite nine sacks off Burrow, who had 348 passing yards. Chase had 109 yards through the air.
The Titans (12-6) suffered a third loss at home as the highest ranked team in the NFL playoffs in their association. They haven’t won at home in a playoff game since 2003.
Running back Derrick Henry, who missed nine games with a broken foot, finished with a touchdown and 66 rushing yards.
