Basketball professional Theis is planning to take part in the European Championships at home

Boston. National basketball player Daniel Theis is firmly assuming that he will play at the home European Championships in Cologne and Berlin.

The 30-year-old NBA professional from the Boston Celtics said this to the Spox online portal. “As of now: Yes! I’m really keen on the European Championships at home. If everyone is there, we have a very, very good team. I hope that I have a long postseason ahead of me now, but there should be enough time to recover afterwards and prepare for the tournament,” said Theis. The tournament will take place from September 2nd to 19th.

He recently met national coach Gordon Herbert in San Francisco. “It was a very good conversation, I also knew him from before in Frankfurt. We hope that we’ll have all the boys on board and then achieve something at the European Championship,” said Theis. In the playoffs, his Celtics meet the Brooklyn Nets around the two star players Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. “We believe in ourselves and it doesn’t matter who we play against. We don’t have to avoid anyone,” said Theis confidently.
