Barcelona will change its stadium in the 2023-24 season due to renovations at the Camp Nou | Spain League

The Barcelona City Council has granted the building permit for the reform of the Camp Nou, which FC Barcelona plans to start next June, once this academic year is over, and which will mean that in the 2023-24 season the matches of the first football team are played at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

In an act held this Thursday in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Council, the mayor of the city, Ada Colau, and the president of the Barça entity, Joan Laporta, presented the details of the agreement of the council’s government commission that It will allow the start of the reform and expansion project of the stadium that the club plans to finish in the 2025-26 season.

With this concession, Barcelona has the green light to start renovating one of the key parts of the Espai Barça, the project that includes the remodeling of the football stadium, the construction of a new Palau Blaugrana and the urban reorganization of the surroundings of the Camp Nou.

The execution of the works will mean that the football matches that are usually played at the Camp Nou will be moved to the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in the 2023-24 academic year, although both institutions are still working to close an agreement that establishes the conditions of use of this enclosure.
