Arturo Elías’ farewell message to Oviedo: “I hope to return for the play-off”

In the lobby of the hotel of the Reconquest of Oviedo, everything was memories between a bustle of suitcases, several cars and a van to take the belongings of the Elías Ayub and their companions to the airport in a well-protected way. Because the visit of the largest shareholder of Oviedo came to an end in an atmosphere of emotional hangover due to everything experienced in an unforgettable weekend for Oviedo: presentation of the Foundation and victory over Leganés in an environment that had not been remembered in years. All this, with Arturo Elías, owner of Oviedo, as an exceptional guest. The Aztec did everything: he met President Adrián Barbón, had dinner with the council, enjoyed the Oviedo night and ended up doing the haka in a delivered Tartiere.

The Mexican said goodbye to the city yesterday and headed to Madrid, where he will be for a few days and will take the opportunity to attend the Real Madrid-Chelsea and Atlético-City Champions League matches. “El Patron” paid the hotel bill, took the last photographs, chatted with a fan and took the opportunity to make an aside with LA NUEVA ESPAÑA and assess his visit to Asturias, in which he brought the club up to date.

“A note to my stay in Oviedo? A 10, whenever I come it is a 10. If I stay with something it is with the people of the city. It is always a real pleasure to walk down the street, stop at the church and go to the stadium”, Elías assured. His favorite pastime in Asturias is walking. “I love walking around the city, I can spend hours, days and months in Oviedo”.

Elías also took the opportunity to comment on the good feelings that the blue team left him against Leganés. “I saw an orderly, united and solid team. We are very excited”. The businessman has not set a return date, but he is clear when he wants to return to the Asturian capital. “I hope to come back in June for the play-off”, declared Elías, referring to the dates of a hypothetical promotion promotion that Oviedo would be in a position to compete in right now.

The Aztec also spoke of the Asturian derby that is being played this Saturday and once again pulled irony: “They won’t let me enter El Molinón: why am I going to stay?” Elías asked himself, who avoids giving a result of the match: “I don’t give it out of superstition.” The truth is that the derby against Sporting was already lived yesterday in the Reconquista. “Presi, are you going to go to El Molinón?” Elías asked Jorge Menéndez Vallina, who went to the hotel to say goodbye. The man from Oviedo, who had already declared his absence on Saturday, replied: “I’m not going.”

The Mexican family took a box of Muscovites and a copy of “La Pizarra de Simeone”, the book by the Asturian journalist Marcos López that he himself brought to the hotel. Federico González, Carso’s advisor and very attentive to the needs of “El Patrón” azul, was also at the hotel, in addition to David Mata, people from the carbayón club.
