Arona 24 – Four medals in Barcelona for the Diciottozerouno Brewery in Oleggio Castello

OLEGGIO CASTELLO – 06-04-2022 – Also this year the “Barcelona beer challenge” took place in Spain, a competition of international importance now in its seventh edition: a jury made up of 60 expert tasters from the sector evaluated the 1315 registered beers from 15 different countries; The event is an excellent opportunity to compare the quality of Italian brewing production with the foreign one.
Among the awards assigned in the 64 beer categories present, the Diciottozerouno Brewery in Oleggio Castello has achieved 4 awards: two gold and two silver medals.

The world titles went to Tulle, a Weizen-style wheat beer, and to Ocra, a Saison already awarded on many occasions; the argenti instead went to the Caribbean – the first pils-style beer produced by the brewery thanks to the very light water of the area – and to Toast, an English bitter that has only recently entered the range.

“We have now reached the eighth year of our opening” says Marco Bonfà, one of the owners “and having a continuous feedback serves to orient us in the direction of quality”; “I am very happy with the awards achieved, especially for the Caribbean” says Davide Sica, the other partner “It is the beer I produced at home more than a decade ago, to which I am very attached”.

The production of Diciottozerouno has always been characterized by easy-drinking beers, without exaggeration, however presenting valuable organoleptic qualities confirmed by the numerous successes achieved in national and international competitions for several years.
