The Cup dream ended yesterday for Ampo Ordizia, after losing 16-23 in the semifinal that was played in Altamira. The team fought until the last moment to get through to the final in Seville, but victory eluded them due to small details and specific errors. The main one occurred in the 66th minute when the Ordiziarras lost 13-16 and were preparing to attack near the rival 22nd, but a pass intercepted by the Chamizos was lethal. That play ended in an advanced kick that Velarde captured to rehearse under the sticks and put an already very difficult 13-23 to overcome.

The Pucelanos proved to be a very strong team and complicated all of Ampo’s defensive and offensive actions, despite the fact that the Ordiziarras knew how to read the clash well and were able to match it. When the locals got closer and were better off, the decisive play of the match arrived. A pity, since in the game they had taken the pulse of a team that took the initiative, especially in the first half.

The match was full of emotion from start to finish. The Valladolid players went ahead in minute 12 by means of a test. In addition, the kicker Samuel Katz managed to materialize the essay to increase the lead on the scoreboard (0-7), but the Ordiziarras’ response came three minutes later with a penalty shot by Lander Mujika.

Ampo Ordizia’s reaction

The second half, however, was different and Marotias’ men came out on the pitch better. However, it was the Valladolid team that struck the first blow, after again materializing a penalty blow.

In the 61st minute came the Ordiziarras’ first attempt at the hands of Andell Loubser and Lander Mujika materialized it to close the gap (13-16).

However, El Salvador took better advantage of the errors and increased the advantage in the aforementioned action in the 66th minute to put the score at 13-23. Lander Mujika was in charge of scoring the last points to add excitement, but the difference was already too great and the Ordiziarras could not come back.

Ampo Ordizia did a great job, but as often happens in sports, yesterday the team that made the fewest mistakes won, and that team was SilverStorm El Salvador. We will have to wait for the league.

Today, at 1:00 p.m., the other finalist who will come out of the Alcobendas-Ciencias duel in Las Terrazas will be announced.
