“1SGE”: Flight number changed in honor of Eintracht Frankfurt

Barcelona. Eintracht Frankfurt received a special honor on their return from the European Cup coup at FC Barcelona. For the return flight, the flight number was changed to “1SGE” according to the Bundesliga soccer club.
“Thanks to an absolute exception,” tweeted the Hessians before departure, adding: “No kidding, just nice.”
The abbreviation SGE stands for the name Sportgemeinde Eintracht. On the flight data website “Flightaware”, the Lufthansa flight with this flight number could be observed on the return flight in the afternoon. With a sensational 3-2 win in Barcelona, Frankfurt made it into the semi-finals of the Europa League.
