Tragedy. The 22-year-old captain of the football team committed suicide

Footballer Katie Meyer has made a name for herself by celebrating one of her penalties in a final shootout against a North Carolina team that helped Stanford win her third NCAA women’s soccer title in 2019. Her reaction became viral on the Internet and was seen by almost two million people.

Twenty-two-year-old Meyer was found dead on the campus of the university campus, apparently on one of the dormitories. According to the latest available information from the Wall Street Journal, she committed suicide. Meyer was a senior in international relations. Her friends describe her as a team player who went into everything and was able to give in to others.

“There are no words to express the emptiness we are feeling at the moment,” Stanford University officials said in a statement.
