The Bera Bera, pending the Gijón-Rocasa that could squeeze the upper part today

No one said it would be easy for Super Amara Bera Bera to win another league title. And it is that after a long time as the undisputed leader, the defeat in Malaga almost three weeks ago has once again given emotion to the Iberdrola Warriors League. Currently, the Donostiarras lead Unicaja Banco Gijón, second, by three points, and Rocasa Gran Canaria, third, by five, but both still have to make up for matchday 11, which precisely confronts them. They will do it this afternoon starting at 7:30 p.m. in Gijón.

A victory for the locals would tighten the classification to the maximum and would place them just one point behind Super Amara when there are ten dates left to conclude the championship. All this in a complicated week for the squad led by Imanol Álvarez, who will have one eye on today’s direct confrontation between his pursuers and another on his set-up before visiting Aula Valladolid on Saturday. The women from Valladolid, finalists in the last edition of the Cup, are sixth with nineteen points but form a group that always puts Bera Bera in trouble. More so in the Huerta del Rey, one that historically tends to choke.

For this reason, the Gipuzkoans have to wait for the result this afternoon between the Asturians and the Canary Islands to find out how the classification turns out on equal terms and from then on the objective will be to maintain the good level of play offered throughout the season in order to continue in the highest and try to conquer the league title.
