NÎMES In police custody: he could not bear to lose badminton against a woman

Death threats, he even went to look for a hammer in the trunk of his car with the intention of hitting his opponent. On Wednesday night, a 24-year-old man, previously known to police, exploded after losing a totally friendly badminton game. He first insulted, then threatened with death his one-night opponent, a young woman who could no longer control him. The reason for his anger: he would not have agreed to lose at badminton!

While people intervened to try to reason with him near the Rouvière stadium in Nîmes, he went up a notch in the threats, indicating that he was going to shoot everyone. The police were called to the rescue and were forced to intervene quickly. The suspect was eventually taken into custody.
