María Isabel Huitrón a warrior in judo – El Sol del Bajío

CELAYA, Gto. (OEM-Informex).- María Isabel Huitrón Ángeles, 26 years old, who suffers from severe deafness “hearing loss”, has a taste for practicing judo, and seven years ago she left her land, Pachuca, Hidalgo, to settle in Celaya , land to which he has given several achievements. For the athlete, her mother, Jazmín Ángeles, is her admiration and her driving force to move forward.


Part of Isabel’s triumphs have been winning a gold medal at the World Judo Championship for the deaf, held in France; she is immortalized in the Celayense Sports Hall of Fame, she received the National Sports Award; she was second place in the National Olympiad in Monterrey, Nuevo León, as a conventional athlete; third place in the Pan American Circuit in Panama as a conventional athlete; at the Deaflympics in Turkey, she got the first place, gold medal.

In the “Daniel Flores Hernández” event, he achieved second place under 21 in Toluca as a conventional athlete, qualifying for Barranquilla; in the Dominican Republic he took fifth place as a conventional athlete; he participated in the tournaments: Tomoyoshi Yamagoshi, in Jalisco and obtained third place as a conventional athlete; in the “Daniel Flores Hernández” Tournament in Querétaro, he achieved second place as a conventional athlete; National Tournament “Jorge Ito”, in Jalisco, the first place conventional athlete, among others.

Do you like being a woman, and why?

“Of course I like being a woman, and it is because there are many reasons, I think that as a woman, cooking is something typical that women do, cooking, playing house and cleaning is something that I like, like combing my hair and although I don’t really like putting on makeup, I do my best”.

Is it false or true that men and women are equal and what about the LGBT community and others?

In my case we are all equal, both men and women there is always equality.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

“I want to study to be a physiotherapist, I want to because I really like being a sign language teacher and a judo coach in the background.”

Do you think that in Mexico everyone is treated the same?

“No, I don’t think so because in the case of women they make us feel less, that we can’t do certain things that men do and make us feel or see us as weak women, when in reality we can do it, maybe there are little details that we cannot do them, but we learn the same and not perfectly as they want, but we can always do it, and I think that a man and a woman collide a lot in that part”.

Would you like to get married and have children?

“The truth is I don’t plan to get married and I don’t plan to have children, because it is a lot of responsibility and they are an expense, if I really like babies and children, but to have them, no, because I have other expectations.”

Have you argued with friends at home or at school about human rights, what do you think?

“I haven’t argued.”

Are you worried about the future of the planet? Do you think we should do something for it?

“We must take more care of the planet, yes, because every time it is worse with that of the Covid, and how horrible is the situation because we all must take care of ourselves because we do not know if tomorrow the world is going to end, in In my case, that scares me.”

What are you afraid of?:

“I’m afraid to fly by plane.”

Do you think the internet is a safe place?:

“No, I do not think so”.

Have you experienced violence on social networks? And what kind of violence?

“After the competitions in France they hacked my account, they stole everything that is my privacy, they published things that did not seem to me, I do not know who it was, I keep looking for who is the person who was getting into these things, that is not the problem, but they hacked me a lot of things, they stole my photos, they began to publish them, and they uploaded things, they pretended to be me, but well, even that many people sent me messages in a way to support me so that this does not happen again happen”.

How would you like the person who governs Mexico to be?

“That they give more support, because we are getting worse and worse.”

Would you like to be president of Mexico?

“No, because I still have many things to learn and to know.”

What would you do for your community if you could?

“I don’t know, it’s something I’d like to think about.”

If you traveled to space, where would you go?

“I would like to go to the moon, that would be great”.
