In Davis Cup, Chile swept Slovenia 3-0

A solid victory achieved Alejandro Tabilo and Tomás Barrios in the doubles duel against Blaz Rola and Sebastián Dominkoby partials of 6-2 and 6-3 closing like this Chile’s victory in the Davis Cup World Group I series against Slovenia by 3-0.

The match began with an advantage for the Slovenians, but the Chilean duo quickly recovered and began to take advantage of the game. The match went back and forth until the fifth game, where the Chileans began to take the lead.

The sixth game was fundamental, with a possible break for the visiting duo, reaching the point in extra time, however, with Tabilo in the net and Barrios behind, the Chileans were able to reverse the situation, keeping the point, putting themselves up 4-2 .

Taking advantage of the momentary advantage in the seventh game, the Chileans put a lot of pressure on Rola and Dominko, forcing a new extension, where Tabilo and Barrios achieved the break and came within a point of keeping the sleeve.

The Chileans took advantage of the wide advantage and ratified the break, closing the first set with a solid 6-2 in favor of the team led by Nicolás Massú.

After this, the match was played point by point, with neither of the two teams giving ground and each point played until the end, even so, none of the pairs wasted the serve, staying point by point until the score was 5-3, with Chile on series point in the ninth game.

Despite being down 15 – 40, the Chileans brought out their best tennis, taking the game to an extension, where they quickly took the lead and with the solidity shown throughout the series, being able to break the Slovenian duo and thus closing the victory by 6 to 3.
