Girona protects a dream in Almeria (0-1)

GIRONAHappy and optimistic. This is how Girona d’Almeria started, with the fourth consecutive victory in the basket for the first time this season (0-1). This means that the Girona team climbs to fourth place in the standings and is just seven points away from direct promotion. And that the referees put a spoon in the final stretch, repeating a penalty that the locals had failed and failed again. There is no normal match.

Things always happen for some reason. The evolution of Girona de Míchel is the result of confidence in an idea, especially when the results did not accompany. It was there, in that disastrous month of October that the people of Girona put themselves in places of descent, when the dressing room was promised to row together. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Sleep remains protected and the mood is getting firmer.

But the reason why things happen has many readings. They may just pass, because they must pass. It is also because others have not passed. Who hasn’t lost consciousness thinking what would have changed if they had done that instead of the other? Like the beautiful combination that the Girona team put forward, a connection between Samu and Borja García that the latter sent to the back of the net. The 0-1, a sign of self-love against the runner-up, could well have been a 1-0 minute earlier. Dyego, incomprehensibly, had sent out a gift from Juan Carlos, the real hero being shining with his hands.

Almeria misses a penalty twice

The white-and-red goalkeeper was able to calm down, despite the mistake. He stopped when he played and more than he played, and so he shattered any reaction from Almeria. He started by deflecting three balls to Bernardo’s corner in a rebound from Robertone and a long shot from Juan Villar. The show would come to an end. Girona, unlike what he defends, did not have to have much ball to hurt. In fact, we find the origin of Borja’s goal in Juan Carlos, after a long drive. Accustomed to making possession his great virtue, the goal came in an isolated action, through direct play. In life you have to have alternatives.

And we should have fair arbitrations, too. A completely unknown fact for a team that observed, in disbelief, how the referee ordered to repeat a fair penalty and dictated by the VAR that had stopped Juan Carlos to De la Hoz, with bounce included of Centelles to the wood. The argument, this time, is that the people of Girona had entered the area prematurely. With an indescribable tension, Villar sent the ball into the clouds. Ely would also end up in the woods while Girona, in the process of accumulating heart attacks, reinforced hope.
