Game of the Night: Los Angeles Lakers – Dallas Mavericks

The Lakers definitely can’t do it anymore. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, as part of the NBA regular season, the Los Angeles-based franchise recorded a third defeat in as many games already played since the end of All-Star Weekend. This time, the Californian franchise was beaten, still in its lair, by the Dallas Mavericks (104-109). The visitors made a definite difference in the final moments of this encounter, led in particular by Luka Doncic (25 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists). For a good part of the fourth and last quarter, the Lakers were then in front, but without having taken off. And thanks to a 4-10 final, the Mavericks therefore had the last word, despite LeBron James (26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists).

The MVP of the night: Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves)

He was in great shape. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, as part of the NBA regular season, the Dominican international pivot Karl-Anthony Towns, now 26 years old and selected in first position, during the 2015 edition of the Draft, by the franchise that is still his, namely the Minnesota Timberwolves, finished top scorer for his team but also top scorer in the game he played, with personal statistics of 39 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. Enough to allow his people, who currently occupy seventh place in the Western Conference standings, to afford the Golden State Warriors (129-114), second in the same ranking. With this second success in a row, the locals inflict on the visitors a sixth defeat in their last eight meetings.

The flop of the night: Brooklyn Nets

Missed again for the Nets. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, as part of the NBA regular season, Brooklyn lost a fourth game in its last five outings, with a new setback recorded against the Toronto Raptors (109-108). Unlike the previous match and its gap of 36 points, this time the gap between the two teams was therefore clearly smaller. The locals were able to count on Gary Trent Jr, who finished top scorer in this meeting (24 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists) or even on Scottie Barnes, author of a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists). This time, this victory definitely took shape only in the last moments. While the score was still 103-103, the Canadians finished with a final 6-5, which was enough for their happiness.

The French of the night: Nicolas Batum (Los Angeles Clippers)

At the Clippers, everything is fine. On the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, as part of the NBA regular season, the franchise based on the Los Angeles side recorded a fourth consecutive victory, by going to win, for the second time in a row, on the floor of the Houston Rockets (100-113). On this occasion, the French Nicolas Batum therefore had the opportunity to speak. The Habs end this meeting with personal statistics of 4 points and 4 rebounds. A meeting which was hooked especially during the first act, but it was in the third and penultimate quarter that the definitive difference was made, when Houston conceded a scathing 16-4 in just four short minutes of game. A lead that allowed Batum to then take a place on the bench for the end of this meeting.
