BBL: Bayern basketball players dominate Bamberg after the break

The basketball players of FC Bayern Munich have defended their lead in the Bundesliga despite several corona cases among players and coaches.

The leader celebrated the fifth home win in a row with an 83:62 (34:35) win against Brose Bamberg.

The BG Göttingen defeated the Niners Chemnitz at home with 90:69 (37:37) and thus achieved the highest win of the season. Due to the home win, Göttingen climbed to seventh place. The MHP giants Ludwigsburg also made up a place in the table and are now fifth after a 76:59 (41:30) away win at the Jobstairs Giessen 46ers.

On the way to winning ten competitive games in a row against Bamburg, table leaders Munich dominated the second half with 49:27. Above all, Deshaun Thomas (20 points) couldn’t get Bamberg under control. National basketball player Paul Zipser scored seven points in the second game after his comeback.

Bayern announced before the game that “several members of the supervisory staff and players are in quarantine after positive corona tests”. The people of Munich did not name names. Meanwhile, head coach Andrea Trinchieri was absent against his former team, being replaced by Demond Greene.
