Avilesian clubs dominate the junior regional championship

Six champions and a total of fourteen podiums for Avilés, Sanfer and Óscar Fernández at the event held in Tudela de Agüeria

Avilesian judo continues to leave good news in each event in which it is presented and the carnival weekend was not going to be less, with six titles and a total of fourteen podium positions in the junior Asturias championship, held in the sports center of Tudela de Agüeria. The covid was noted by the lower influx of competitors than usual, although most of the best in Asturias were on the tatamis.

Judo Avilés once again led the medal table with six metals, four sub-21 regional champions and two second places in finals played between teammates. One was the one that measured Alba Barreiro and the reappeared Elisa Fernández (-63 kilos) with the victory of the first; Rodrigo Burgos did the same with Iván González (-73). Adrián González (+100) and Pablo Menéndez (-90) also took gold.

Two other champions provided the performance of the club Óscar Fernández, Mateo Solís (-81 kilos) and Atenea Muñiz (+78). In addition, two third places, from Celia Dacosta (-63) and Gabriel Solís (-73).

The regional harvest closes with the four metals from Judo Sanfer, silvers from Claudia Lora (-57) and Manuel Valdés (-100); and the bronzes for Marina Coviella (-57) and Álvaro Gamba (-60).
