Following the 3: 6, 7: 5, 7: 6 (7: 5) success over the Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the 24-year-old wrote “No War Please” (“No War Please”) on the lens of one on Friday TV camera. Normally, after wins, the players sign with their signature. According to a report by the AP news agency, Rublev was not asked about his message in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in the interview on the square.

Medvedev is also concerned

The new tennis world number one Daniil Medvedev had previously expressed concern about the attack by Russian troops on Ukraine. “Waking up here in Mexico and seeing the news from home wasn’t easy,” said the 26-year-old Russian after his quarter-final victory at the ATP tournament in Acapulco. As a tennis player, he promotes peace around the world.

“We play in so many different countries, I’ve been to so many different countries as a junior and as a professional. It’s not easy to hear all this news,” Medvedev said.
