Liniers tied last night goalless against Ferro de Olavarría and could not take advantage of his field, which presented a large audience, in the first leg of the South Pampean Region of the Federal Amateur.

Despite playing with two more for a large part of the game, Chivo could not capture the numerical superiority on the scoreboard, even failing a penalty through Gonzalo Bárez.

Taking the shot from Pancho’s 12 steps (he went over the crossbar), Matías Soto Torres was the one who had the two clearest chances to open the scoring: a header in the first half and a left-footed shot that crashed into the post, in the plugin.

“We’re leaving with a bit of anger because of the situations we had and we couldn’t get things done. But we’re calm because we were much superior. There’s still one game left and we’re going to go out and play the same way,” warned Soto Torres.

“I think they came to defend themselves and buy time, since we were 11 against 11 you could tell what they were looking for, it’s their game. But hey, we have to try to counteract it and I think we have many weapons to do it. We have to go out to look for victory there”, added the creative midfielder of El Chivo.

During the visit they saw the red Enzo Suárez (at 28 minutes) and Franco Hammerschmidt (49m.). In the albinegro, meanwhile, Lucas Esperón (89m.)

“We didn’t know how to counteract when they were left with two fewer, they got inside the goal and we didn’t know how to attack them. We had some situations but we didn’t have the effectiveness of other games, but we are calm because we had the chances. Hopefully if we have them there, we can make it happen”, admitted Mati while leaving Doctor Alejandro Pérez.

Next weekend Liniers will have to go to seek classification for the final for promotion as a visitor.

“We knew it was going to be difficult, it was a final. We knew that the remaining games were going to be very tough. There is one more final left and as of tomorrow (for today) we will work and focus on bringing Olavarría the classification”, he closed.
