- A new Mario Strikers, Kirby and Nintendo Switch Sports will arrive on the Japanese company’s latest console this year
Nintendo held its first event of the year showing various video game trailers and projects they are working on for the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo’s console has kept pace with the two largest in the video game industry, such as Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Sony’s Playstation 5.
With games that enhance gameplay and the ability to share them with multiple users online, Nintendo’s announcements are often one of the most anticipated of the year.

Nintendo Switch Sports
One of the first titles that received the most attention was the Nintendo Switch Sports which became one of the sports classics after the success it had in 2006 on the Wii console.
Unlike the first game on Wii, which only had baseball, bowling, boxing, tennis, and golf, this edition will include new disciplines such as chambara, soccer, badminton, volleyball, and golf among its playable options.
The game will be on sale from April 29, 2022. It will cost $60 and can be played online with multiple users at the same time.
New tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best-selling game on the Nintendo console. This game, starring the vehicles of Mario, Luigi, Bowser and company, has sold 43.35 million copies since its launch.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will have an expansion pass as a paid DLC with a total of 48 remastered tracks. All circuits will be gradually integrated so that fans of the popular racing game can try new worlds.
To have this new extra game material, users must pay 25 dollars and will receive the new races through six deliveries. The first batch will be available on March 18, 2022.
Mario Strikers: the game that unites soccer and Mario Bros
The Mario character has always been the protagonist in new Nintendo releases and this was no exception. On June 10, the new edition of Mario Strikers will arrive: the soccer game in which the members of the world of Mario Bross participate to be the champions of a soccer league.
Up to eight users (four per team) will be able to play on the same console simultaneously. Online, up to 20 people can do it in a tournament to find the champion.

“A 5v5 soccer-like sport where offense is key,” Nintendo revealed in the trailer.
Kirby returns to consoles
On March 22, another of the most beloved characters by Nintendo users will arrive: Kirby. Nintendo announced Kirby and the Forgotten Land in which the story will focus on traveling to different locations to face various enemies.
Although the game is designed for one player, also a partner can join online to battle rivals.

“Players can launch a variety of attacks using their spear and can quickly jump into two-player cooperative play on the same console by sharing a Joy-Con controller,” the company explained about the game.
This game will be released in commemoration of Kirby’s 30th anniversary in the world of video games.
