Many personalities reacted to the invasion of Russia in Ukraine. Mesut Özil, former Arsenal and Real Madrid player also reacted to the conflict between Ukraine and Russia which has been raging for several days. The German player posted an image on social media without adding a comment.

On several occasions, the former German international did not hesitate to publicly display his positions. In December 2019, Mesut Özil notably gave his support to the Uyghurs.
