Lunel: the swimmers and swimmers of the Victor-Hugo high school at the top in the academic championships

Recently, in Saint-Clément-de-Rivière and Montpellier, the teams from the Lunellois establishment excelled in swimming and badminton.

Decidedly, the sport has the wind in its sails at the Lycée Victor-Hugo. After winning the UNSS academic championship (National Union of School Sports) in the Run & Bike duathlon, the establishment has again distinguished itself in badminton and swimming.

Indeed, recently, the students participated in the academic championships in Saint-Clément-de-Rivière and Montpellier. The first badminton team retains its title, won in 2020, just before the start of the health crisis. In addition, this formation composed of Vincent Dubreucq, Camille Jung, Emilianne Laisi, Thuy Linh Nguyen, Lucas Schneider and Corentin Verdoit, is qualified for France which will take place in Blois, from March 21 to 23.

“Which is a fair return because the students had not been able to go to the French championship due to confinement. Among them, three students were already part of the 2020 selection. go”, welcomes Sébastien Domergue, their teacher.

Swimming skills?

Moreover, the second team, qualified for the first time at this level, ranks fourth. Note that the Feuillade high school created a surprise by climbing to the 2nd step of the podium.

In swimming, the students’ results are just as encouraging. Three teams represented the school, one in the “establishment” category, two in “excellence”. The first, composed of Cléo Corones, Juliette Leclercq, Philomène Denny, Pauline Nicodème, Lou Senegas, Dan Bigiaoui, is academic champion.

She awaits the verdict of the UNSS for her possible qualification in France. The other two are respectively third and fourth behind the big cars of Mermoz (Montpellier) and Joliot-Curie (Sète).

Note also the academic titles of young officials for Vincent Capelle in badminton and Rayan Dahmanai in swimming.
