Judo: always very good results for young people

Judo: always very good results for young people

The last weekend of January, it was on Mézoise soil that the Hérault championship for the youngest and the zone championship for cadets and hopefuls took place.

On Saturday, it was the turn of the cadets and the hopefuls to do battle. The competition was a qualifier for the next Occitanie championship in Toulouse and for the Coupe de France and the critérium espoirs, in May, in Clermont-Ferrand. Among the cadets, the Mézois obtained very good results since they all qualified. Itah Traoré in less than 70 kg, Titouan Bec and Alésia Devaux in less than 63 kg, become vice-zone champions and Gabriel Pelain in less than 73 kg and Romain Hisson in less than 90 kg do not deserve to be on the podium.

Among the hopefuls, Océane Bec, 1st year cadet, in less than 48 kg, because of a small error, misses the title, while Agathe Harragou Dufour, also a cadet, obtains this coveted title of zone champion in less of 57 kg. They will represent the club at the next Occitanie championships and at the national criterium in Clermont-Ferrand.

On Sunday, the youngest entered the fray and, there too, the club was a full house. Charly Léger-Valette won a bronze medal in the under 66 kg category. As for Sarah Ronsain in less than 44 kg, Salma Alouarit in less than 52 kg and Guilhem Harragou Dufour in less than 52 kg, they left no chance to their opponents by winning brilliantly, in their respective category, the title of champion of the ‘Herault. These youngest will meet on the tatamis of Marvejols in April.

Again and again excellent results for the Judo Club Mézois. Congratulations to all these young judokas who will soon represent the local colors in regional and national competitions, and for their departure at the highest level.
