James Harden only stayed in Brooklyn for a year, before getting tired and demanding to leave for Philadelphia. But before rejoining his new teammates, the Barbu decided to do a huge blow to the old ones… Their latest defeat is partly his fault.
When James Harden doesn’t want to be anywhere, he makes that pretty clear. For example, at the end of his adventure in Houston, he let go of the notion of professionalism by arriving late for training camp, he was too busy partying with his friends, but especially by arriving with a few kilos in too much. And on the field, he spent his time scampering around without showing the slightest sign of envy.
And because the method has proven itself in Texas, the Bearded man has seen fit to start over, to a lesser degree, with the Nets. Following the injury of Kevin Durant, who he’s been falling out with latelyhe started to slow down, and history will remember that in his last game with Brooklyn, James Harden, one of the best forwards of all time, scored only 4 points in almost 40 minutes, facing to a team as average as the Kings!
James Harden takes his time, Nets deprived of rookies
Before embarking on the conquest of the title with Joel Embiid and the Sixers, the 2018 MVP has decided, voluntarily or not, to make one last swipe at his former franchise. Indeed, he was hugely late to get to Philadelphia, which had disastrous, and some say unfair, consequences on the Nets. Moving to Miami, they were greatly handicapped.

Seth Curry and Andre Drummond (awaiting formalization of the trade) are unavailable for the match against the Heat
It is the rule, the exchanged players have 48 hours to arrive in their new franchise, pass the medical examination and initial the contract. But if they are usually in too much of a hurry to wait, James Harden decided to take his time, to arrive at the last minute, thus preventing the trade from being official before the start of the match between the Nets and the Heat. Steve Nash therefore had to do without Seth Curry and Andre Drummond, who would have greatly helped in the 115-111 defeat of Brooklyn.
The question now is whether this delay was voluntary on his part, or if he had much more important things to do before joining his new franchise… Still, among the fans, anger quickly mounted at this which was seen as one last finger of honor from James Harden to the Nets.
James Harden was tired of the atmosphere in Brooklyn, and he decided to leave not without causing a stir. And it would not be surprising if his delay for the medical examination had been calculated. All means are good to plunge the Nets into crisis.
