80 years of Dino Zoff: ‘My unrepeatable glory’ – Football

“The results that have arrived have impressed many and consequently have also impressed me. I am particularly pleased with all the attentions that are still directed at me. It means that I have worked well”. Dino Zoff turns 80, next Monday, and retraces his career also speaking of the sporting “glory” that saw him as a protagonist.

Zoff in an interview with “Italy with you”, broadcast tomorrow on Rai Italia and online on Rai Play (https: // www.raiplay.it/ programs / litaliaconvoi), focused, above all, on three special moments: the game of scopone with Pertini; the kiss to Bearzot and the decisive save against Brazil in 1982. “Three extraordinary and very important moments; decisive and determined – his story – Pertini, put us at ease with the game of cards; the kiss to Bearzot was something out of the ordinary, far from our way of being, from Friulian modesty; the parade, on the other hand, took us far away. They still remind me of it today even if, at the time, I was terrified that the referee did not evaluate well “.
“I still follow football, even if not always at the stadium” – continued Zoff – I still like it. Of course there are generational changes and there are differences but the substance is always good “.
“There are many regrets but in reality they are not regrets.
My philosophy has always been that if I did something that way in that moment, it means that I wasn’t able to do it differently. For the rest, reaching forty captain of the national team and lifting the world cup is something that will not be repeated. ”
