World Baseball’s governing body is hosting a virtual tournament using South Korean baseball screen technology

Seoul – The virtual baseball world championship is held with baseball screen technology from the World Baseball Softball Federation (WBSC), the world association based in Switzerland. Newdin Contents, a sports simulation content developer in South Korea, will provide its technology called Strikezon, which detects the rapid movement of the ball.

The IOC has partnered with game publishers to offer virtual sporting events such as baseball, cycling, and sailing.

“WBSC is proud to partner with Newdin and the breakthrough baseball screen technology Strikezon,” said Schmidt.

Using Strikezon vision sensors equipped with two high-speed cameras, the platform can accurately measure the movement of a baseball. The automatic slider controls the speed and direction of the ball depending on the skills of the player. Various sound effects are provided to maximize realism and users can choose their teams through a touch kiosk. The platform offers a training mode for pitchers and pitchers.
