Teddy Riner, a true icon of Judo

Teddy Riner has been at the top for many years. The athlete is what we call, a true icon of French sport. It must be said that the one who is 32, has won everything. Ten times world champion, 3 times Olympic champion, he has nothing more to prove. Because beyond being a great champion, the colossus of 2.04 m, also has a family life. And to say the least, it is because he is very close to his children (Eden and Isis), born from his relationship with his partner Luthna Plocus.

Children who are also a motivation in his professional life. Indeed, Teddy Riner decided to have them young enough, to be able to enjoy with them, the joys of victories. Moreover, according to his statements, if they had not been there, ihe might not be a judoka anymore today :

Without them, I don’t know if I would still be in judo, practicing.

Today he knows where he is going. And his last goal is clear: the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.

Le regret by Teddy Riner

If Teddy Riner is very happy today, he still has a little regret. In fact, when he was young, he would have liked to have had certain experiences that most adolescents have. And especially small love affairs. A regret that he recently mentioned on the microphone of the podcast of his great friend Tony Parker:

I am told: ‘what do you regret in your life?’ (…) That’s all stupid what I’m going to say. The only thing I wish I had known is college romance.

Teddy Riner then adds that he would have liked to go to the movies with his girlfriend, have a drink. Or even walk hand in hand:

You know, the thing where you have your girlfriend and after school, we see each other, we go for a drink, we go to the movies… You see, I didn’t know that. Holding hands in the street, the ‘we go out together’… I have known something else.

A touching statement from the athlete. We see that he sacrificed everything to be the best.
