Within the framework of the second version of the initiative “Strengthening and Projecting Sports towards High Performance, Conventional and Paralympic”, the SEREMI of Sports, Diego Ramírez, together with the mayor of Placilla, Tulio Contreras, participated in the “Clinic of Wheelchair Basketball ”, held in the municipal gymnasium of the commune.

It should be remembered that in the last quarter of last year, the members of the Regional Council and with the broad support of the Governor, Pablo Silva, approved more than $ 132 million pesos to finance systematic training, talent detection, skills and multidisciplinary teams, in addition of the acquisition of 14 wheelchairs for this Paralympic discipline.

Regarding the activity, led by the national technical director and a native of San Fernando, Juan Soto, the active participation of many individuals and families could be appreciated. “This intervention is very relevant for us because sport is union and encounter. We are already taking the first steps of consolidation and it motivates us that the work is already bearing fruit ”, explained the trainer.

Mayor Tulio Contreras, meanwhile, highlighted the manifest support of the Ministry of Education in order to mobilize a significant number of athletes who, “without a doubt, are eager to get ahead and show their talent. In addition, physical activity is a complement to integration into society fully and without fear, “said the mayor.

Finally, the first sports authority in O’Higgins, Diego Ramírez, was happy to be achieving the objectives set, “this is an event that brings together an entire commune and that allows the development of people in other aspects, such as independence and its projection into the future. That is why it is very important that these clinics last over time beyond those who organize them ”, concludes SEREMI.
