Who are the high school students who died in the tragic Lake Chalain accident?

Noé Artuso, Nathan Menoud, Sarah Dufay and Natacha Monnet are the four high school students who died in the tragic accident at Lake Chalain. All were educated at the Lycée de Champagnole, in the Jura.

Natacha Monnet (pictured left), the 19-year-old driver, was a Licensed member of the US Crotenay Combe-d’Ain football club (USCCA).

She had just bought a white Peugeot 206, two doors.

Previously, she had been dismissed from the Champagnole judo club. She was starting her second season at Crotenay as a centre-forward. His father, also a footballer, had played in Combe-d’Ain in the past.

“Her character was that of a leader, who organized things but always with a smile. As soon as there was a rally or a demonstration, she was the first to respond.” testified Jean-Claude Pajet, president of the club.

Nathan Menoud (pictured right), was a handball enthusiast. He was licensed at the ES Chaussin club.

The whole family was invested in this club: the coach dad, the mom at the score table and the sister player also at the club.

Nicolas Cordier, the only survivor of the accident, still hospitalized in Lons-le-Saunier, played in the same team as Nathan.

“Our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Nathan, victim of the terrible accident at Lac de Chalain. Licensed to the Chaussin club, Nathan played with his left arm within the group. We also give our full support and wish a speedy recovery to Nicolas. A minute of silence will be held before each match throughout the weekend. testified the club.
