Watford defeats Norwich 0-3 in the Premier League: summary and goals | premier league

Yaser Asprilla’s dream of being able to play in the Premier League could be ruined in the coming months and not exactly his fault…

The first two goals of the season by the American Joshua Sargent led to the victory at Vicarage Road for Norwich (0-3) on Friday, which left the relegation zone of the Premier to which his opponent, Watford, fell.

Juan Camilo “Cucho” Hernández began the duel on the substitute bench and entered at minute 59, but he could do little to avoid defeat or at least order his team’s discount.

The roles were reversed at the end of the first duel of the twenty-second day that Watford started saved and his rival, in the penultimate position. At the end of the meeting, which was interrupted for a quarter of an hour by a blackout in the stadium, the locals fell to eighteenth position and the ‘canaries’ settled into permanence.

Dean Smith’s Norwich came out stronger from a key game in the lower part of the English classification. He had eight games without a win, with six straight defeats, until last weekend when he came out of the crisis by defeating Everton.

It was his first win since last November 20. The Canaries put their second win in a row early in the second half on track with a goal from Joshua Sargent who received a ball from Finn Teemu Pukki.

The American debuted as a scorer who scored another, a quarter of an hour from the end, which sentenced the victory of his team and accentuated the pothole in Claudio Rainieri’s team, who has accumulated seven defeats and a draw in his last commitments. A pass from the left by Kosovar Milot Rashica was headed by Sargent who gave Austrian goalkeeper Daniel Bachman no chance.

The situation got worse for the hosts three minutes later, when Emmanuel Dennis saw the second yellow card and was sent off. Rainieri’s team did not have an option, conceding the third in added time, in an own goal by the Slovakian Juraj Kucka, to fall to the relegation zone of the Premier.

Watford occupies 18th place with just 14 points, five fewer than it could be eight if Everton win their pending game. Moreover, the bottom of the championship is Burnley with 11 units, but has three games pending. In the event of making nine out of nine, Watford would fall one position and would be penultimate… Complicated scenario considering permanence.
