‘Water the garden with a fire hose’, etc… Incheon Fire Headquarters Executive Discipline

A firefighter who used a fire hose during working hours to water the vegetable garden or played badminton while wearing a fire protection suit was punished by a firefighter who used “gap-jil” against his subordinates.

The Incheon Fire Department recently held a disciplinary committee and announced on the 11th that the former 119 Special Rescue Team leader A was given a ‘reduction in wages for two months’ for violations of the ban on private labor.

The disciplinary committee originally intended to issue a one-month suspension, but lowered the level of disciplinary action to two months, taking into consideration the A firefighter’s past awards, etc.

Firefighter A was suspected of having subordinates water a vegetable garden planted with cabbage and peppers using a fire hose during working hours around August of last year.

The vegetable garden was created near the runway where the helicopters of the Fire and Air Corps are dispatched, and the cultivation of crops is prohibited here.

He was also found to have played badminton while making his subordinates wear fire suits at the helicopter hangar of the 119 Special Rescue Team in Yeongjong-do, Jung-gu, Incheon last year.

As a result of the investigation, it was confirmed that Fire Department A had violated the Corona 19 quarantine rules, such as bringing a table outside the building and holding a dinner.

Earlier, the civil servants’ union who loved firefighting pointed out, “Fire fighter A has won the resentment of its employees for abuse and slander.

He then urged the Fire Service and Incheon City to investigate the incident closely, and to take special measures such as immediate dismissal or dismissal of the head of the Incheon Fire Department and the high-ranking officials.
