The new owner of the Formula 1 broadcasting rights, Nordic Entertainment Group, is not letting it grow. The Swedish company announces an exclusive collaboration with Jos and Max Verstappen. This means that Viaplay customers will soon be able to count on content that you will not find anywhere else.
According to NENT Group President and CEO Anders Jensen, Viaplay and Verstappen are an ideal match. Both strive to be the most dominant in their field. Max Verstappen on the track and Viaplay in all media that goes with it. Anders Jensen wants to take the sport to an even higher level with this deal and is looking forward to an intensive collaboration with what he says is “talented and extremely charismatic superstar.”

Max Verstappen is also looking forward to it: “I’m really looking forward to this collaboration with Viaplay, especially because our ambitions to be the best in our field match.” The brand new world champion also immediately reassures the Dutch Formula 1 fans. The switch from Ziggo to Viaplay will take some getting used to, but certainly not disadvantageous. “Viaplay may be new to Dutch viewers, but the streaming service has already earned its footsteps abroad. It’s fantastic that we can treat a large group of fans to unique content that we will create together,” said Max Verstappen.

It is not yet entirely clear what that unique content will be. Peter Nørrelund, Chief Sports Officer of the NENT Group, lifts a small corner of the veil. He talks about unique access to drivers and analyzes of big stars such as Jos Verstappen, Mika Hakkinen and David Coulthard. Father Jos has mainly remained in the background in the media in recent years, but that will change from this Formula 1 season.

What exactly will come of this collaboration remains to be seen. In any case, Viaplay promises that it will be worth it for the fans. “The addition of Max’s exclusive content takes viewers into the fastest show on Earth like never before,” said Peter Nørrelund.
