In the province of Salerno two people were arrested in the province of Salerno on charges of extortion and usury. The facts date back to 2017-2018. The two arrested – according to what emerged from the investigations – would have asked for interest higher than the rate set by law.
Modus operandi
For a loan of one thousand euros, an amount of two thousand euros would have been requested over 12 months. One of the two arrested, aged 52, also allegedly threatened the victims with hitting them with a baseball bat. In the summer of 2018 in Agropoli an entrepreneur would have been threatened with arson attacks on the vehicles of his company and forced to pay six thousand euros
