LOS ANGELES (AFP) – Lusia Harris, the only female player in NBA history to be selected in the draft, died today in her home state of Mississippi at the age of 66. “It is with deep sadness that we inform you that our angel, great parent, sister, mother, grandmother, Olympic silver medalist, ‘Queen of Basketball’ Harris, passed away suddenly today in Mississippi,” Harris’ family said in a statement. ” Her family did not disclose the cause of death.
