Toupane to debut against Metropolitans, Amara Sy still absent

Axel Toupane (2.01 m, 29 years old) will wear the Paris Basketball jersey for the first time in competition this Saturday, at the Halle Carpentier. For his first outing with his new club, the NBA champion with the Milwaukee Bucks will have a hard time facing the first in the Betclic Elite standings, Boulogne-Levallois.

Positive for Covid-19 and absent during the defeat against Limoges last Sunday (93-76), Axel Toupane will meet his coach in the France team, Vincent Collet, as well as former teammates in Blues Lahaou Konaté and David. Michineau.

Bad news, however, for Amara Sy (2.02 m, 40 years old). The admiral is forfeited for the meeting, because of a painful ankle. The long-awaited reunion between the Parisian captain and his brother Bandja Sy will not take place. Amara Sy has been absent since the match against Strasbourg on December 18 (95 to 74 loss). In all this season, he has only been able to hold his place six times in the league, due to injuries.

This match represents a great challenge for the Parisians who missed it last Sunday and hope to recover to clinch their sixth victory of the season. Boulogne-Levallois must also revive after its defeat against Roanne on Sunday (92-93). Meet on Saturday, 8:30 p.m., at the Halle Carpentier.
