Tohoku Rakuten 24-year-old man Hayakawa “Aiming for a double-digit victory” | Kahoku Shimpo Online News / ONLINE NEWS

Hayakawa, a year-old man who vows to make a leap in his second year as a professional

Takahisa Hayakawa, a pitcher of professional baseball Tohoku Rakuten, is a year-old man born in the year of the Tiger, who will be 24 years old this year. Last season, when he joined Waseda University in the first place in the draft of the four-team competition, he started his professional baseball life with his left arm, winning nine wins in Thailand, the most in the history of the team. What are the New Year’s aspirations that are expected to make a leap forward? While looking back on the rookie year, I asked him what he wanted to do in his personal life.

I can do my best with the support of the fans

-After the first year.

“I felt the level of professionalism. There were many games where I couldn’t throw the innings and dropped out halfway. I think it’s important to control the second and third rounds of the opponent’s hitting line.”

-What was the most memorable match?

“It was my first professional pitching at Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi (March 28). It was raining and cold. I got applause for each ball and I felt that I could do my best because of the cheers of the fans.”

-What made you get along with the pitchers?

“I talked a lot with Mr. Yuki Matsui. I’m really serious about baseball. I have a friendly personality, but I stand on the mound with a look like a matchmaker. I’m a senior with clear on and off.”

“I often talk privately with Mr. Takinaka (Kyota). How should I arrange training equipment in the room?”

-I heard that you will leave the dormitory and live alone this year. Confidence in cooking.

“No! I think Mr. Takanashi (Waseda University’s senior giant, pitcher Yuhei Takanashi) can do anything by himself and it seems that his life will be easier. Is good”

I want to throw it for a long time

-Are there any things you would like to try for the New Year?

“I want to learn a language. It’s English. When I talk to the team interpreter, Mr. Horii (Yusuke), it’s said that talking to Busenitz is the quickest way.”

-What do you want to do after the epidemic of the new coronavirus has subsided?

“I want to go eat Yokote Yakisoba that I saw on TV before. Even if my friend asks me about the delicious food in Tohoku, I can’t recommend it because I haven’t gone out anywhere …”

“Before the Corona epidemic, (fans) brought dogs to the stadiums of the US Major League Baseball and did things like showing them off. I wonder if Rakuten Eagles will be lively if pets are OK. Is it difficult because they will fight each other? It’s my own imagination, but I want to try it. “

-I’m quick, but what kind of person do you want to be in the next year when you turn 36?

“I want to be a player who can be thrown for a long time like Mr. Kishi (Pitcher Takayuki Kishi) and Mr. Wakui (Pitcher Hideaki Wakui). I want to be kind to juniors like two people.”

-Finally, what are your goals for this season?

“I want to cut the ERA to 3 points. On top of that, I aim for the regular throwing times and double-digit wins that I couldn’t achieve last year.”
