The U18 National Team has everything ready for the talent camp in Saladas

Meet the 25 young people who will participate in the event that will take place from January 13 to 27 in the city of Corrientes. The voice of Herman Mandole.

The beautiful Corrientes city of Saladas awaits. Following the itinerary stipulated in the agenda for the selected formative teams, the Argentine U18 National Team assembles its bags to travel to the so-called “land of Sargento Cabral”, from January 13 to 27, to carry out a training camp with 25 talents.

Herman Mandole, Coordinator of Training Teams, announced on Monday the young people who will be part of the event. Let us remember that this camp will have the presence of players between the 2004, 2005 and 2006 categories, and that specific aspects will be worked on with the aim of continuing to develop them, emphasizing the individual improvement of each young person.

“I am very happy with the list that we put together. I think there is technical, tactical, athleticism and stature. If we look at the height and size of the players that we have mentioned, it is really very good, but we have not only chosen them because of their height. but also because they stand out and excelled in the tournaments they participated in. Many already have participation in the Development League and others also do so in the professional teams. I have the best expectations for this new process that is starting. The hope is to be able to accompany these young people projects so that in a few years they can be players of the Senior National Team. We do not set deadlines, but that they reach the Senior with the greatest amount of experiences and resources that we can give them on our side “, Mandole began by explaining in a talk with CAB Press.

Along with the training coordinator, the coaching staff will be joined by Federico Renzetti, as technical assistant, and Mariano Sánchez, as player developer. In turn, Omar Vilca will be the physical trainer. It should also be noted that the TC will be completed with other collaborators such as Santiago Rimoldi (technical assistant), Carlos Miño (technical assistant), Jonathan Righueiro (player developer) and kinesiologists Franco Chanquet and Mario Piñero.

When consulted with this interesting and important working group that will be used together, Herman highlighted the experience of each one of them in their respective areas and fields, in addition to highlighting the fact that this is an inclusive federal TC that seeks to surround itself with the best professionals to continue growing.

“I am very happy with the group of coaches that we have managed to capture. Renzetti has a lot of experience in the minor national teams, he participated in a World Cup and in professional basketball, a training coach who worked in all categories from school to first division. It is the first time that the CAB has added two player development, player developers, who aim to promote the development of these guys, so we are very happy to add Mariano Sánchez and Jonathan Righueiro, it is great, it is the first time that happens and I think they are two of the best in the country at this “.

And I add: “It is also the first time that there will be a physical trainer from Jujuy, Omar Vilca, who is also an ENEBA3 level coach and an anthropometrist, so he will be in charge of conducting all these studies on the boys. That speaks for itself. only that he is a studious person, trained, and that federalism is going to be important in this new administration that begins now, because we are going to see coaches from all over the country. There will also be a trainer and a kinesiologist from Corrientes ( Carlos Miño and Franco Chanquet) and another kine from Rosario (Mario Piñero). It is quite a federal staff, that’s what we are aiming for. On the other hand, that Néstor (García) joins in to watch the training sessions, he says that the National Team, the Major together to the minor categories, it is organized in an organic way and we are in permanent contact “.

With this, the Selection prepares to live two weeks of intense work in Saladas. This could not have been achieved without the management and joint work that is being carried out between CAB and the Municipality of Saladas. The arrival of Che García, DT of the Senior National Team, will take place on Thursday the 13th when training begins.

The work modality will be three workouts to one rest, starting each day from 8 in the morning. It will begin starting with preventive and pre-training work, in a routine of 30-45 minutes that will seek to become a habit for each player. Then another phase of the work will begin focused on individual technique, and then later lead to group training. It will also incorporate concepts on how to run the street, how to charge the offensive rebound, how to fill each position in a fast attack and others, principles that the National Team will seek to have and that must be worked on daily.

In the two weeks that this camp will take place, the 25 talents of the National Team are expected to play some friendly matches that are still being confirmed. It will work with a system called Bio-Banding, which is used in various parts of the world, especially in the United States, focusing on the physiological and non-chronological age of the players, with different groups so that they can develop in the most effective way. In addition to what is previously detailed field work, there will also be talks with different professionals, video sessions and some online language classes. The idea, as Mandole well explained, is to work organically among all the professionals and components of the CAB.

Without a doubt, this will be a key event for U18. Because although it is true that in the immediate term it can serve as the starting point for the South American in March and in turn towards the FIBA Americas in June, the objective of this camp is not focused solely on the short term and its true horizon is to train and develop these young people, with the necessary tools so that they can continue to grow and take the leap they should.
