“The team supports Juan Varas” • Diario Democracia

Argentino is in a difficult moment in the National League and Mauro Araujo spoke with Democracia about the current situation.

El Turco has three vital away games and the base showed his support for the current coach, Juan Manuel Varas, in addition to talking about other issues.

Regarding the poor news, the Juninense said: “Clearly these games were not the best feelings, they were not even close to what we were in the last year-end games, we are aware of that and that is why we are not resting even one second in order to reverse the situation”.

As for the individual, Araujo is in a good moment and fulfilled his record for points (21) in a League A game: “I’m happy about that, but at the same time bitter about the team’s situation. I would have preferred it to be in another context where we would have won and thus be able to enjoy it better”.

Given the rumors that haunt the Turk, that if he does not win on the tour there could be a change of DT, the former Los Indios was clear: “Not only I who already had him, but the entire team supports Juan Varas. What we lack, we are looking for day after day with all the work we are doing to be able to reverse it next month”.

The unity of the group of players is important at this time and Araujo highlights it: “We are a very healthy, fun group that is always pushing forward. Between all of us we are trying to make this bad experience as light as possible and thus be able to work more calmly”.

Finally, the player who spent two years as a Ciclista in the TNA, analyzed the League: “The A League is very even, beyond the fact that there are teams with more budget, it has already been shown that anyone can win on any court having a good day. I like that because it motivates us to continue growing and improving”, he concluded.

Ginobili in La Union

Sebastián Ginóbili will assume the leadership of La Unión de Formosa in place of Eduardo Japez. The leadership went in search of a new coach given the complicated sporting reality that the team is going through in the National League, where it occupies the penultimate place in the table with five wins in the 17 games played.

For Ginóbili it will be his third club as coach in the National League, remembering that he worked for six seasons at Bahía Basket and then was hired by Instituto de Córdoba. In recent 2021, he had his first experience outside the country directing Mexican basketball.

The Bahiense, born on June 10, 1972, after his career as a player, had his debut as a coach with Bahía Basket in 2013, managing the institution until 2019. He was a key part of that project that had as its axis the training of players and that he also managed to excel in sports, even internationally, obtaining the runner-up position in the South American League in 2016 and also the second place in the 2017 League of the Americas.

In the middle of his long cycle in Bahía Basket, in 2015 he was appointed as coach of the Argentine youth team U19.
Instituto de Córdoba was his second club in the League. He arrived there to start the 2019/20 season and left in the middle of 2020/21 in the competition that was played in bubble format in Buenos Aires.

The Mexican opportunity was coming. In September of last year, the League of that country was launched and Ginóbili was in charge of Panteras de Aguascalientes.
