The Mexican Tennis Open inaugurates a new venue in Acapulco

Always aiming for the highest

On several occasions, the Abierto Mexicano Telcel presented by HSBC has won the award for the best event on the ATP Tour 500, voted by the players, so now, with the new facilities, an important step has been taken to consolidate the event as the best of the entire circuit.

“Before, we were looking for tennis players, now there are many who want to come. Now it is one of the players’ favorite tournaments, due to the level of competition, the quality of the tennis players, the beauty of the destination, the hotel infrastructure and the warmth of the Mexican people”.

With the inauguration of the GNP Arena as the most important venue in the region, the Mexican Open has established itself as the best tournament on the ATP 500 circuit and, with this, -Fernández emphasized- raises his hand to become one of the Masters 1,000, because we have the capacity and experience and, now, the necessary infrastructure.

It is worth mentioning that this is the third time that the Mexican Open has changed its venue, since it emerged in 1993. At the beginning it was held at the German Club in Mexico City, later it moved to the Princes Hotel in Acapulco. As of this 2022 edition, the venue will be the newly built Arena GNP.
