Philippe Bormans, CEO of the Union, explained to us this Saturday that the location for the club’s new stadium had not yet been found.
For him, three solutions are on the table: two in the municipality of Forest (Bempt site and behind Forest National) and one in Drogenbos. “The first option is to stay in Forest, but the only municipality that currently shows that we are welcome is Dorgenbos”, he advanced in our pages.
Contacted by “Bruzz”, the mayor of Drogenbos argues that it is not possible to build a new stadium in his town. “There is no site on our territory that would allow the construction of a new stadium, commented Alexis Calmeyn to the Brussels media. In addition, we do not have the police capacity. A stadium in Drogenbos is impossible.”
